Construction site security in London
Overnight, weekend and phased-works cover for London construction sites: dog units, static officers and gatehouse control across all 32 boroughs.
London construction sites have a security problem that comes directly from their geometry. Footprints are small, the value on site is high and portable, and the site is usually overlooked on all sides by buildings whose occupants have no reason to intervene. Density gives you witnesses but not defenders.
The second complication is access. Congestion charging, low emission zones, restricted delivery windows and residents parking all shape how quickly anybody can reach a site, including us. We build that into the schedule rather than discovering it on the first shift.

How London sites differ from the rest of the region
On a central London site the hoarding line is often the pavement. Materials cannot be set back, so anything left out is within reach of the street, and a scaffold provides a route to every floor. That shifts the emphasis onto controlling the gate and searching the structure at the end of the day rather than walking a perimeter that barely exists.
Contractor volume is the other distinguishing feature. A mid-sized London job can have twenty trades on site in a week, all needing induction, and access control is where most preventable loss is actually stopped. Logged entry against individual and company is worth more than an extra camera.
Noise constraints matter too. Residential neighbours will escalate a barking dog to the local authority quickly, so a K9 deployment in a dense borough needs handling with that in mind. It is a manageable constraint, but it is one a contractor who only works out of town will not have planned for.
Away from the centre, the arterial-road industrial estates and the outer-borough development sites look much more like the rest of the region: longer perimeters, poorer lighting, and a stronger case for a dog unit over static cover.

How we work: construction site security
Theft from construction sites is planned around whatever security is visible. A patrol that runs at the same time every night is not a deterrent, it is a timetable.
Construction sites are targeted deliberately rather than opportunistically. Plant, cable, copper, fuel and power tools have an immediate resale value, they are portable, and a site plan can be worked out from outside the hoarding in an afternoon. That is why theft from sites tends to happen in the small hours of a Sunday rather than at random.

Officers hold current SIA licences and dog units operate under BS 8517 and the Guard Dogs Act 1975. Licence numbers for personnel assigned to your site are available on request, along with public liability certification for principal contractor records.
